Ashlee Haste, BSW

Founder & Executive Director

Ashlee E. Haste is the Founder and Executive Director of House of Psalms 23 located in Syracuse New York. Ashlee is a native of South Carolina but moved to Syracuse at the age of 11. The segway into the nonprofit world was produced at age 14 by the CNY Works Summer Youth program and placement was with Catholic Charities Refugee Resettlement Summer Camp for youth. Ashlee continued working each summer for the camp during her highschool years. She understood that her mission was to serve those in need. Her education was provided at Nottingham Highschool “04”, Onondaga Community College “11” and Syracuse University “22”.

Ashlee was featured in the OCC Alumni magazine “11” for being the first candidate for the 2+2 program between SU and OCC. This allowed for a seamless transfer from Human Services A.S. major into the Social Work BSW program. Ashlee gained employment at Salvation Army Women’s Shelter and Family Shelter. There she excelled and quickly climbed the ladder from Resident Manager to Intake Supervisor. With her sharp assessment and effective communication style, she quickly advanced into a leadership role at Chadwick Residence as a Program Coordinator where she oversaw the program, designed and implemented services, and supervised a staff of 20 professionals. She worked countless nights to ensure that the facilities operations were in order and the safety of the women residing in the program. All while raising three teenagers at home and completing her degree at Syracuse University.

Ashlee is featured in the Syracuse University “2022” Global Campaign for her perseverance despite the odds. You can find her face at the Syracuse Hancock Airport, SU Professional Studies website, and marketing mailings. With over 15 years in the human service field, lived experiences, educational background, and working with diverse populations, she saw the need for more productive services that could be creatively designed to target vulnerable populations and produce positive outcomes. Out of this birthed House of Psalms 23 where restoration can begin.
